The Biggest Mall in North America

Shopping is a familiar, fun, and often necessary activity. Whether it’s stocking up for back to school, or picking up mementos from a trip, people often have need to head to a mall. But what if the mall you headed to was actually part of the sight seeing you did on your trip?

Why go see a mall? Maybe because it’s the single largest mall in North America, the tenth largest in the world. What mall are we talking about here? The West Edmonton Mall in Alberta, Canada.

The mall occupies over 3,800,000 square feet (that’s just what the stores take up, afterall). There are over 800 stores contained in it. On any given day, there could be between 100,000 to 200,000 people shopping, depending on the season and the demands. This is the mall to end all malls.

Because it has become such a tourist attraction, the West Edmonton Mall also includes a lot in the way of entertainment. Among other things, the mall contains an amusement park, a waterpark, a salt water lagoon, and all the ‘normal’ fun activities like golf, movies, and ice rinks. All of this is in a single mall.

How could you not want to go see it? There truly isn’t another shopping center like it. If you’re thinking you or your family wants to visit the Edmonton Mall, it’s time to start getting your travel documentation in order, packing, and planning on what other amazing sights you’ll take in in Alberta!
